Jenna Dewan-Tatum hides her bump in white sweater and torn jeans

Jenna Dewan-Tatum was photographed while shopping earlier this week and her bump was well camouflaged from most angles.  I like what she is wearing – a white sweater, torn jeans and brown/black sandals.  The addition of the fedora has made this outfit more memorable and makes it seem a little more ‘dressier’.

This outfit works because Jenna has maintained a slim physique.  This outfit choice probably wouldn’t have suited Jessica Simpson, for example, because her large chest covered by a loose, non-fitting sweater would have made her appear much bigger than she is.

Malin Akerman looks fierce in oversized cardigan

Malin Akerman has really embraced the oversized sweater look this winter.  She has taken it a step further here, with an oversized tan sweater and massive black cardigan with a shaggy collar.  Teamed with a pair of leggings, long black socks and her favourite black boots, she looks very warm and very fierce.

Not much of a bump showing though – Malin has managed to stay slim throughout her pregnancy so far.

How To Wear: Oversized sweater / cardigan

Oversized sweaters and cardigans are this winter’s trend – pregnancy chic included.  So I thought it would be fun to give you a few ideas on how to wear an oversized sweater while pregnant, without making it look like you are carrying more baby than you actually are!

First, inspiration….

And whilst not strictly a sweater or cardigan, Petra Ecclestone shows us how to cover our bump with a stretchy jersey top:

Next, some do’s and do not’s….

  • do think of your silhouette – oversized on top, slim on bottom.  Try skinny jeans, leggings or a pencil skirt.
  • avoid anything baggy on the bottom – combined with an oversized sweater – you will look HUGE!
  • do try cinching in an oversized sweater with a skinny belt
  • do add a scarf – just avoid adding too much bulk by wearing a sheer scarf

And now, some looks to try….
